Jamie Carragher thinks Unai Emery has a “big job” on his hands to get Arsenal defending properly, while he has named two players that are “not good enough”.

The Gunners miserable away record against their top-six rivals continued over the weekend when they lost 3-1 to Manchester City on Sunday.

Sergio Aguero scored a hat-trick as Arsenal fell three points behind fourth-placed Chelsea and Carragher has questioned Emery’s defence.

“Not just today, Stephan Lichtsteiner is not good enough,” Carragher said on Sky Sports.

“Maybe you could argue that’s because of his age and the fella next to him Shkodran Mustafi has never been good enough since the day he walked through the door and that’s why all the goals came down there.

“To see Arsenal defend like that really, there’s a big job here for Unai Emery to do.”

Meanwhile, fellow Sky Sports pundit Alex Scott also thinks Stephan Lichtsteiner is the weak link in the Gunners’ defence.

“Lichtsteiner, I have to say, wasn’t good enough today,” Scott said.

“You can see with [Alex] Iwobi, starting to help double up down that area because you can see that was the weak link today.

“Every single goal, it was a repeat pattern, it didn’t change but ultimately City were at another level.”
