Chelsea target Tiemoue Bakayoko has hinted he could yet stay at Monaco following a cryptic series of posts on Twitter.

Goal reported on Thursday that the two clubs have agreed on a £40m deal, with a medical the last remaining hurdle to overcome before an official announcement can be made.

Bakayoko uploaded pictures on his Instagram account of him at Chelsea’s training ground earlier on Friday, before the confusion over his already protracted move to the Premier League started.
The 22-year-old’s switch to Chelsea has already been held up due to concerns of his fitness following recent surgery on a knee injury.
But while Chelsea were reportedly confident Bakayoko would pass a medical, the midfielder has since deleted the Instagram snaps and published two confusing posts on Twitter.
Bakayoko first uploaded an emoji-filled tweet on Friday evening indicating he is heading back to Monaco, before following up with another post with the text: “Just 2 days and I already Miss U.”
There have also been some reports that a medical broke down at Chelsea on Friday and Bakayoko’s tweets have only served to fuel speculation.
Chelsea have made just two signings so far this season, capturing Willy Caballero on a free transfer before landing Antonio Rudiger from Roma for £34m.
