Philippe Coutinho has broken his silence regarding his Barcelona future – by not saying a great deal about his Barcelona future.

Coutinho has truly been the red herring that has dragged on through this January transfer window to keep it vaguely interesting.

It never seemed particularly likely that rumours linking him with a move to Manchester United would come to fruition, while even former club Liverpool and Premier League rivals Chelsea were reportedly interested.

Coutinho has not yet truly settled at the Nou Camp since joining 12 months ago, with manager Ernesto Valverde claimed to have ‘given up’ on the Brazilian.

But Coutinho followed up his two goals in a 6-1 Copa del Rey win for Barca over Sevilla by finally discussing his situation.

“Nobody knows what will happen in the future,” he told beIN SPORTS.

“I’m happy after a few difficult moments.

“I’ve never stopped working. All I have in my head right now is to work hard.”
