Goal reported in June that Arsenal tabled a €35m (£30.7m) offer for Lemar but the offer was swiftly rejected by Monaco, who are desperate to keep hold of one of their prized assets.
Arsenal are still interested in signing Lemar despite seeing their opening bid knocked back and club legend Pires believes the France international would be more than ideal for the north Londoners.
