Pietro Pellegri is a “young Zlatan Ibrahimovic”, according to his agent, with Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain among those monitoring his development.

The teenage striker has burst onto the scene at Genoa, with two goals netted in four games this season.

Pellegri’s exploits are now drawing interest from afar, with leading sides across Europe forming part of a large group of suitors.

The Italy U-17 international’s representative is not surprised by the admiring glances, but has told Secolo XIX that no formal approaches have been received as yet.

Giuseppe Riso said: “I am not in contact with anyone at the moment.

“We are talking about a very powerful striker. Let’s just say he has the characteristics of a young Zlatan Ibrahimovic. He’s not just a revelation in Italy, but one of the best young European players.

“Don’t forget, at the age of 16, he bagged a brace against Lazio. It’s not surprising he has been linked with PSG, as many big European clubs are tracking him.”

Pellegri has been a rare positive for Genoa so far this season, with the team struggling in Serie A where they are currently languishing in 19th spot, having collected just two points from seven games so far.
