Goal reported the two sides would reach an agreement earlier on Sunday, with the medical expected to take place Monday.
The 33-year-old Sneijder was last at Turkish club Galatasaray where he had spent the previous four and a half seasons. Prior to that he was at Inter and Real Madrid after breaking in Ajax.
Sneijder had been spotted at the club’s Champions League qualifier against Ajax, but his agent had denied transfer talks with Nice.

However, he now is set to join the club, where he will team up with Mario Balotelli and Dante.
Should a deal be completed by midnight, Sneijder will be eligible for Nice’s Champions League roster for their playoff against Napoli. A victory in that tie will see Nice through to the group stage of the competition.
