The reports emerged after pictures surfaced on social media of a letter from the French outfit to Al Ain enquiring about the player’s availability on loan.

The Arabian Gulf League side have reportedly rejected Nice’s attempt to avail of their star playmaker’s services. However, the letter seems to be dated June 27 and hasn’t appeared on any official outlets.

Despite the UAE side’s initial rejection, there remains hope of an agreement being met this summer according to Sport360. The UAE-based sports publication claims a Nice official traveled to Abu Dhabi in the past week in an effort to broker a deal.

In the letter, Nice requests the service of the Asian Player of the Year on a loan deal with an option to make the move permanent.
