Manchester United will consider making an offer for Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye this summer, according to reports.

Paris Saint-Germain reportedly made a bid of £30million for Gueye in the summer with Everton having to deny that the midfielder had handed in a transfer request.

And the Evening Standard claims that Gueye is ‘being considered’ by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as a potential replacement for Ander Herrera, who could leave in the summer.

The Spaniard only has a couple of months left to run on his current deal at Old Trafford and the two parties have been negotiating on a potential new deal for some time.

Herrera admitted recently that he and United are “not thinking alike” over a new deal with Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona and Juventus all understood to be interested in signing him on a free transfer.

The sticking point is believed to be Herrera’s huge £200,000-a-week wage demands, which the Evening Standard say ‘has convinced the Spaniard to walk away’.

If Herrera chooses PSG as his next club that would potentially leave United with a free run at Gueye, who ‘could be available for less than £30million in a summer’.
