Gary Neville thinks Chelsea forward Eden Hazard will have to score at least 25 league goals a season if he moves to Real Madrid.

The Belgium international scored a lovely individual effort to open the scoring as Chelsea beat West Ham 2-0 on Monday night to move into third place in the Premier League.

There has been increased speculation in recent weeks that a deal for Hazard to join Real Madrid in the summer is as good as done.

And Neville reckons Hazard will have to find another level if he makes a move to the Bernabeu.

“For me, I don’t know how many times over the last four or five years I’ve said this is the most incredible player, amazing to watch, but I want more,” said Neville on Monday Night Football.

“I keep wanting more from him. Not more tonight, obviously, because he was absolutely amazing, but [this should be his level every week].

“That’s a really top performance from Eden Hazard [108 goals in 342 appearances], don’t get me wrong, but I’m also disappointed in the sense that I think he is better than that.

“And that’s really good, but for me, you talk about a Real Madrid, that will not be accepted at Real Madrid I don’t think.

“This season is fine, but if you just generally look at his performance over the last three or four seasons [it’s not as good].

“I think when he goes to Real Madrid he’ll score 25 [a season]. I’ve always wanted 25 from him. I’ve always wanted 30 from Sergio Aguero! Every season I’ve always thought they’re that good these two.

“I think Hazard is that good, that to not have a 20/25 goalscoring Premier League season, I think is a disappointment. So for me, I love him to bits, but I think he needs that next [level].”
