Graeme Souness has advised Manchester United to “sign two £50million players” if they can recoup the money they paid to bring Paul Pogba back to Old Trafford.
After improving drastically in the couple of months after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s arrival as manager back in December, Pogba‘s form has tailed off again recently.
Souness has been one of the France international’s harshest critics since he came back to the Premier League in 2016, often bemoaning his lack of defensive awareness.
And the former Liverpool midfielder reckons it’s time United thought about selling him to improve the rest of the squad.
“If United can get back the £89.3m they paid Juventus for him this summer, I would take the money and move on,” Souness wrote in the Sunday Times.
“He would be a dream to play against. He lets you play because he thinks the game is all about him.
“You buy a player at that price to be the difference in the big games and he hasn’t been, so sell him and sign two £50m players instead.”
