Two of the world’s richest football clubs have ruled out a move for Antoine Griezmann, who is available for £105m this summer.
The Frenchman announced on Tuesday night that he will leave Atletico Madrid this summer, a year after making his ridiculous The Decision documentary to commit to the club.
He was reportedly keen on making The Decision II but was foiled by the Spanish club.
Barcelona remain the favourites to sign Griezmann, though he may have to take a cut on his mammoth £400,000-a-week wages. Manchester United are said to be interested but that move seems highly unlikely if he is leaving Atletico in pursuit of trophies.
Those kind of numbers are too rich for City, with coach Pep Guardola saying on Friday: I can assure the people of Barcelona that we won’t be signing Antoine Griezmann. We can’t afford him.”
That followed PSG coach Thomas Tuchel saying similar on Friday morning: “Griezmann can play with every team in the world. It would please any coach, but right now it’s not realistic.

“We are looking for players with certain profiles, it must be realistic. We need defensive profiles and we have to start with that.”
