Tottenham are interested in £35million Liverpool and Manchester United target Gedson Fernandes.

Mauricio Pochettino has challenged Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy to match his ambition this summer, having guided the north London club to the Champions League final with no signings in the last two transfer windows.

Andre Gomes and Lucas Digne have emerged as targets in recent weeks, with the Daily Mirror also reporting their interest in Benfica midfielder Fernandes.

Liverpool and United have also been linked with the 20-year-old, but Tottenham ‘are making the bigger play’ to sign him.

Fernandes’ representatives visited England last week and held discussions with ‘potential suitors’, including Pochettino’s side.

It would be their first signing since Lucas Moura joined in January 2018, and their second most expensive purchase in history behind Davinson Sanchez.
