Just as Assam was trying to get back to its usual rhythm with the flood situation improving over the last two days, things seemed to deteriorate again on Wednesday as over 6,000 people in 43 villages of Lakhimpur and Biswanath find themselves fighting the floods again.

With non-stop rainfall for the past 24 hours, people in Lakhimpur face immense difficulties with the sudden rise in water levels.

The Assam state disaster management authority (ASDMA) flood report on Wednesday stated: “At least 6820 people in Lakhimpur and Biswanath districts have been affected by flood water on Wednesday.
