Uttar Pradesh police has registered a case against 24 persons for allegedly evicting teachers and the students of a government primary school to keep stray cows. The villagers of Kudana brought cows inside the schools on Wednesday and evicted the students and the teachers, Shamli District Magistrate Akhilesh Kumar said.

UP CM Yogi Adityanath had directed the officials to make arrangements for the proper care of stray cows within a week. He had asked to set up 750 cows shelters at Zilla Panchayat level. He had also asked them to arrange for proper fodder, shed and drinking facilities for the cows in both rural and urban areas of the state.
