Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku says his time at Manchester United made him “calmer” as a player.

The Belgium striker joined the Red Devils from Everton for £75million in 2017 but he spent only two years at Old Trafford before moving on to Inter Milan last summer.

Lukaku struggled to establish himself in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s XI and the centre-forward recently said that he and Paul Pogba were being made scapegoats for United’s decline.

However, he has also taken the positives from his time at United, believing it has helped him “grow” as a player.

“The period there has made me calmer,” he told Passione Inter (via Sport Witness).

“I don’t look at it in a negative way; it really helped me mentally to be ready and to grow as a player and as a person.

“I will never see it as a bad experience because it helped me be where I am today.”
