Darren Bent has urged Tottenham to swoop for Adama Traore, but claims his “unstoppable moments are too few and far between.”

Traore has been linked with Tottenham this week after it was claimed a number of Spurs players were impressed by his performance in their 2-1 win at Molineux last Sunday.

The 23-year-old has taken his game to new heights this season as a key member of Nuno Espirito Santo’s side and showing the consistency which had been missing.

But former Spurs and Aston Villa striker Bent has bizarrely claimed Traore must show his ability on a more regular basis.

He told Football Insider: “As a squad player, he’d be brilliant, get him in there. But for someone like Adam Traore, I think he is good at what he does, he’s unstoppable at times.

“But I think those unstoppable times are too few and far between.

“I can’t remember him having a string of 10 games in a row where he is the best player on the pitch, and that’s the consistency he needs to show.

“Every time he gets on the ball, he has the ability to run past his opponents at will, but he doesn’t seem to do that.

“So for me, I think he could go to Spurs or someone like that, and Mourinho could potentially make him better.

“But I can’t see the players urging for him to be signed straight after that game.”
