Tottenham may offer a player in an attempt to beat Manchester United to Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes, according to reports.

One report in the Daily Mail has said that United have made a £50m bid for Fernandes as they look to wrap up a deal for the Portugal international.

Fernandes is also understood to made his stance clear to Sporting by declaring he wants to leave and join United.

And A Bola (via Sport Witness) now claims that a deal for Fernandes is ‘imminent’ with Man Utd potentially sealing a deal for the 25-year-old today.

There are rumours in another Portuguese newspaper O Jogo that Sporting would like Marcos Rojo included as part of the deal.

And, according to Football.London, Tottenham could propose a swap deal of their own.

The report describes Jose Mourinho as a ‘big fan’ of Fernandes with Spurs understood to be the only team that made a bid for him in the summer.

Football.London add that Tottenham ‘are looking at him once again, with the prospect of Juan Foyth heading the other way on loan.’

Foyth has only started three matches in all competitions this campaign for Spurs and was substituted at half-time by Mourinho in his last start against Norwich City in the Premier League.
