Terrorism fears on the rise: EU study
Immigration remains the number one concern across the EU.
The biggest challenges that the EU faces are immigration and terrorism, according to a European Commission survey published Friday.
Terrorism was ranked the number one concern in eight EU countries and was in the top two in every EU country except for Greece, according to the Eurobarometer survey.
A total of 39 percent of those surveyed said their main concern was terrorism, up from 25 percent when the survey was last conducted, last fall.
Immigration was ranked the main concern in 20 EU members, with 48 percent putting it at the top of their list, down from 58 percent in 2015.
The economic situation was in third place with 19 percent, ahead of the state of public finances (16 percent) and unemployment (15 percent).
