WASHINGTON, DC — Protesters are planning a major rally in front of the White House at Lafayette Park, and Stormy Daniels’ lawyer Michael Avenatti says he’ll be there.
The protest, described on Twitter as #OccupyLafayettePark, will take place at 7 p.m.
In a tweet that has been retweeted more than 20,000 times and liked more than 40,000 times, Avenatti urged everyone who can be there to join them. “Today’s events mark a critical point in the history of our republic,” he wrote.
To everyone who can, please be there tomorrow night in front of the White House at 7pm. Today’s events mark a critical point in the history of our republic. #Basta #OccupyLafayettePark https://t.co/6w3zhD6vjB

This will actually be the second night of the protests. A crowd with airhorns and megaphones organized by former Hillary Clinton advisor Philippe Reines led Monday night’s protests after President Trump’s widely panned summit with Vladimir Putin in Helsinki, Finland, in which he appeared to buy Putin’s claim that he didn’t meddle in the election.
“If you aren’t in DC contact anyone you know in the DC/MD/VA area and tell them to get over to the White House at 8:30,” former Hillary Clinton advisor Adam Parkhomenko tweeted Monday afternoon. “Trump is a criminal and everyone talks about showing up. Now is the time to do so. This is INSANITY.”
The protests have gotten the attention of Avenatti, who has now pledged to be there in person Tuesday night. He also said he plans to make remarks at the rally. The lawyer made headlines after representing Daniels, who claimed she was paid hush money to stay quiet about an affair she had with Trump.
