State champion Cody Skog of Cambridge-Isanti has committed to wrestling for Iowa Lakes next season.

Skog is a six-time state entrant and three-time state placer. He won the Class AAA title this year at 160 pounds, placed sixth at 152 pounds as a sophomore, and third at 140 pounds as a freshman. He ended his high school career with a record of 211-41 including 75 pins. Skog is a four-time Rumble on the Red Tournament placewinner, and four-time Minnesota Christmas Tournament placewinner.

“Cody brings a lot to our program both on and off the mat,” said Iowa Lakes Coach Cody Alesch. “We are excited to see Cody continue his wrestling career with us as we feel he has the ability to compete at a very high level.”

Cody’s parents are Darrell and Amy and his coach is Neil Jennissen.

Skog is projected to wrestle at 165 pounds in college.
