On his Sirius XM radio show yesterday, UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping announced that he will defend his title against his UFC 100 opponent Dan Henderson later this year.

The fight has been rumored ever since UFC 199, when each long-time rival scored upset victories. It was also thought at one time to be a possibility for UFC 200.

“I’m announcing it,” Bisping said. “Dan Henderson vs. Michael Bisping for the middleweight title. October 8th in Manchester. Live on pay-per-view. Do not miss it.”

UFC officials have yet to confirm the announcement.

Several other bouts have been rumored for the card, including:

Middleweights Victor Belfort (25-12) vs Gegard Mousasi (39-6-2)
Light heavyweights Jimi Manuwa (15-2) vs Ovince St. Preux (19-8)
Heavyweights Stefan Struve (27-8) vs Ruslan Magomedov (14-1)
Lightweights Leonardo Santos (15-3-1) vs Adriano Martins (28-7)

Bisping knocked out Luke Rockhold in the first round at UFC 199 to win the title, and this would be his first title defense.
