Quite a large number of WWE Superstars have been going down with injuries lately, including the likes of Shinsuke Nakamura, Sami Zayn, and Bray Wyatt. It was reported last night that Raw Superstar Ruby Riott also received an injury. Riott did not compete on Raw last night, but a new report from WWE seems to indicate that she won’t be gone from the ring for very long. WWE provided an update earlier today that explained the results of an MRI that Riott underwent on Monday. Riott received an MCL sprain, and although the company still did not reveal how long the Riott Squad leader is expected to be out of action, the belief is that her injury is very minor and will be repaired very soon.
Baron Corbin has taken on a new role since he was moved over to the Raw brand earlier this year as Stephanie McMahon selected him to be the Constable of Raw. After receiving the role, Corbin shaved his head and completely got rid of his long hair. During a recent interview with KELOLAND Living, Corbin said that he made the choice to cut his hair himself in order to “look professional” as the Raw Constable. The former Money in the Bank winner said that he is glad that he no longer has long hair as it was difficult for him to maintain during his matches. Corbin continues to wrestle on Raw while working alongside General Manager Kurt Angle as the Constable of the show.
WWE’s Mae Young Classic tournament is coming up in August, and even though no participants have been revealed for the show, there are a few women who are rumored to be involved with this year’s show. Independent wrestling sensation Deonna Purrazzo is rumored to have signed a contract with the company, but that has still not been confirmed yet by either side. However, Cody Rhodes recently announced on social media that Purrazzo will not be able to appear at the All In event on September 1st. She was also just pulled from Chris Jericho’s upcoming wrestling-themed cruise. With Purrazzo’s schedule now completely open, it definitely looks like she may be on her way to the Mae Young Classic or NXT very soon.
Deonna is unable to do All In. We love her. She’s phenomenal. She’s kicking ass/breaking arms no matter where you see her.
