Lars Sullivan only recently debuted on WWE’s main roster as part of the SmackDown brand, but he has faced heavy backlash this week over a series of posts that he made on a bodybuilding forum before he joined WWE. Sullivan’s post have included racist, homophobic, and misogynistic remarks, and he also mocked survivors of sexual assault and mental illness. Sullivan has since given a statement to Wrestling Inc. wherein he apologized to those he hurt and said that he is a different person these days. WrestleVotes noted that WWE officials are hoping that the scandal will blow over soon. Earlier in the week, SmackDown’s Big E called Sullivan a “bigot” for his past posts and said that he will now have to work for a company filled with minorities.
“There is no excuse for the inappropriate remarks that I made years ago. They do not reflect my personal beliefs nor who I am today, and I apologize to anyone I offended.” Sullivan said.
Nikki Cross has finally been assigned a brand by WWE officials. Most fans assumed that Cross was part of the Raw roster, but the former SAnitY member was never actually given a brand by WWE ever since she joined the main roster earlier this year. However, Cross is now listed as a member of Monday Night Raw over on the roster section on WWE.com. Cross was called up with EC3, Heavy Machinery, Lacey Evans, and Lars Sullivan at the start of the year. None of them were assigned brands until the Superstar Shakeup, but Cross was still never officially given a home by the company. However, it appears that Cross will be competing on Raw going forward, so prepare to see her in action on Monday nights for now.
WWE Superstar John Cena has been keeping himself busy with projects outside of wrestling over the past few years, and he has just taken on another partnership. Cena announced yesterday that he has signed a deal with the FitOps Foundation to help serve US veterans. FitOps is a fitness program for veterans that also works to provide them with services after their time in the war is over. Cena said that he is excited and proud to be working with the non-profit organization. Cena has been an outspoken supporter of the United States military for years, and the 16-time world champion has taken part in events for the National Guard in the past, and he also made several appearances overseas during WWE’s Tribute to the Troops shows.
