Absolutely great show, crowd atmosphere was fantastic throughout. It was better than a post Mania Raw crowd, and I’ve been to the last 4. It actually reminded me of attending Attitude era shows back in the day when so many of the roster were over and the product was seen as cool. Quick thoughts on the show. Jim Ross was sat in the front row throughout the entire show and was acknowledged several times, including by Triple H.
Jo-Jo sang the national anthem to start the show.
– Hideo Itami beat Tyler Breeze. Crowd loved both guys but mainly Hideo. Place came absolutely unglued when Hideo nailed Breeze with the GTS for the first time ever in WWE. Here’s a shaky video of it.
– Jason Jordan beat Bull Dempsey. Weakest match on the show. Crowd chanted ‘bullsh*t’ (because of Bull’s name) and ‘Let’s Go Jobber’ to support (!) Jordan.
Bayley & Alexa Bliss beat Becky Lynch & Dana Brooks. Crowd loved hometown girl Bayley and didn’t care about the others.
– Solomon Crowe beat Kalisto via submission. This was a good, solid match. Both looked good at times.
– Baron Corbin beat Rhyno. Crowd rejected Corbin and heavily cheered Rhyno. Corbin scored the win with End of Days, but Rhyno got a pop after the match by hitting his gore.
After an intermission, HHH came out for a quick promo, thanking the crowd. Crowd were loudly chanting ‘Thank You Hunter’. HHH acknowledged so many stars here and in the back, citing Rollins, Stephanie, JR in the front row and Vince backstage.
– Tag Teah Champions Blake & Murphy beat Enzo Amore & Big Cas, and the Vaudevillians. Crowd adored Amore & Cas, every person in the place not only singing along to Amore’s mic work schtick, but also doing all the hand movements as well. It was a hugely impressive reaction.
– Women’s Champion Sasha Banks beat Charlotte. Crowd were split, supporting both. This was a fantastic match, maybe even the best match they have ever had together. Crowd gave both a standing ovation afterwards.
An interview segment between Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens saw both exchange barbs, until Owens bailed.
– Finn Balor beat Adrian Neville. Excellent match. Crowd split between both guys. How Balor is not already on the main roster is beyond me. He’s got main event superstar on the main roster written all over him. He was in full paint.
Show started at 10:10 PM had a 20 minute intermission, and finished at 1:05 AM.
