Kylie Rae has finally broken her silence regarding her sudden, unexpected departure from All Elite Wrestling earlier this year.
The former member of the AEW women’s division issued a statement via her official Instagram page on Sunday.
After being formally introduced as part of the AEW women’s division during the AEW Double Or Nothing Ticket Announcement Party in February, Rae made her in-ring debut for the promotion in May in her lone match with All Elite Wrestling — a four-way match against Awesome Kong, Nyla Rose and Britt Baker at the AEW Double Or Nothing pay-per-view.
From there, Kylie was initially scheduled — and even advertised at one point — for a match against Leva Bates at the AEW Fyter Fest event in June, however Allie would end up facing Bates at the live special instead.
Rae would also go on to become noticeably inactive on social media around this time, which led to the news that would come later, which is that she requested — and received — a release from her AEW contract.
AEW President Tony Khan addressed the Kylie Rae situation during his post-show media scrum for the AEW All Out pay-pr-view in late August.
He noted that she had been released from her contract per her request, and that the departure was “super amicable,” and that they “talked about it and it was very simple.”
The former competitor in the AEW women’s division would ultimately make her return to the pro wrestling scene not too long after, as she competed in a match at the Freelance Wrestling / Freelance Underground independent wrestling event in September, weeks after her AEW departure.
Additionally, Rae appeared at the IMPACT Wrestling Bound For Glory pay-per-view in October, and was an entrant in the “Call Your Shot” gauntlet match.
Here we are in November, and Rae has added the latest chapter to this ongoing saga with the aforementioned Instagram statement that she released on Sunday.
“I don’t know how to start this and I can’t speak on other’s behalves,” Rae’s statement began. “I can only speak for myself and what’s in my heart.”
She continued, “I don’t know many rumors and honestly try to stay away from everything, obviously. But here: nobody made me leave. AEW took my career to new levels and I’m beyond grateful for every opportunity and experience that has come along the way and wish nothing but the best. It’s a great group of people who truly love wrestling and just want everyone to succeed.”
From there Rae would shine a little light on the subject, as she briefly touched on some personal issues she is dealing with that appears to be part of the reason behind her decision to part ways with All Elite Wrestling earlier this year.
“I’ve always tried to be a good person but I make many mistakes along the way,” said Rae. “I needed to get my mind, body, and soul right with God. I wish I had the answers but the truth is I don’t. We all go through obstacles in life and we may want all the answers but we don’t need them. It’s God’s plan and he has shown me what’s truly important in life and to find a blessing in every moment because in the blink of an eye, everything can be gone.”
She concluded, “So instead of bashing, let’s just love one another and appreciate what we have, or something like that lol sorry I’m awkward.”
