Legendary wrestling manager Gary Hart passed away Sunday afternoon. His cause of death is unknown at this time.
Hart was a longtime manager who worked with the likes of Abdullah the Butcher, The Great Kabuki, Chris Adams, Terry Funk, Bruiser Brody, One Man Gang, The Great Muta, and several others.
Hart was also a booker in World Class Championship Wrestling during their hot period in the early 80s and was largely responsible for a number of their memorable storylines. Hart made an appearance on WWE’s World Class Championship Wrestling DVD released last year. On the DVD, he talks about his behind the scenes role.
This past Saturday, Hart appeared in Allentown, PA for an autograph session billed as a “World Class Ringside Reunion” alongside Bill Irwin and Skandor Akbar. On Friday night, he filmed a “guest booker” DVD for Kayfabe Commentaries where former wrestling people in positions of power talk about how they would have booked certain promotions during a particular time frame.
At the time of his passing, Hart was 66 years old.
WWE’s official website has a story on Hart’s passing, which you can read at this link.
