Hold on to your multi-verses, ladies and gentlemen, because All Elite Wrestling has officially announced the signing of one of Impact Wrestling’s most popular stars and former champions.

On the latest edition of Road to Double or Nothing, Brandi Rhodes revealed that 31-year-old Laura Dennis, better known as Allie, Dark Allie or Cherry Bomb prior to arriving in the Impact Zone, has signed a contract with the promotion.

Dennis began training in the Toronto area way back in 2005 and worked for three years before getting her first match with SHIMMER in the United States. Shortly after she began expanding internationally including a tour in Japan, working more consistently with SHIMMER and other U.S.-affiliated promotions from 2011 onward. She would go on to win both the SHIMMER Tag Team Championships and SHINE Tag Team Championships alongside Kimber Lee.

Dennis worked her first match for Impact Wrestling at a 2015 “One Night Only” pay-per-view featuring the Knockouts division in a losing effort to Gail Kim. She became a mainstay for the promotion shortly after, and has been used in prominent storylines including two Knockouts Championship victories and programs with Maria Kanellis, and her current long-term story caught in the battle between Su Yung and Rosemary.

I am so excited to announce that I have officially signed with @AEWrestling!!!!!

At this time it’s unknown whether she will stay on with Impact Wrestling going forward, and for how long. It’s expected that she will at least work the next set of television tapings, as her character has been an important one in one of the promotion’s longest running and most interesting programs.

AEW has stated several times that the door is open for their talent to work literally anywhere, as long as a relationship can exist between promotions, and they did recent enter into a relationship with AAA, which has a long-standing relationship with Impact. We’ll keep you posted as more information becomes available.
