Triple H sent out a Tweet in anticipation of NXT Takeover: Phoenix. The Game reminded fans that the hard work from the talent, as well as the backstage crew, will indeed be on display when the show goes live.
This is indeed a heavily anticipated night for many pro wrestling fans and with good reason. There are only five matches on the card, but four of them are championship matches. The brand’s heavy hitters are booked and that includes Tommaso Ciampa, who will defend the NXT Championship against former titleholder Aleister Black.
Ciampa’s former DIY tag team partner Johnny Gargano will get a shot at the North American Championship when he takes on Ricochet. The Undisputed Era will defend the NXT Tag Team titles against The War Raiders. Women’s champion Shayna Baszler will face Bianca Belair and Matt Riddle will square off against Kassius Ohno.
NXT’s shows typically garner great fan response and Takeover: Phoenix will likely be no different. Much of this is thanks to Triple H, who has truly created something special with the yellow and black brand.
