As noted, WWE Smackdown GM Paige was the special guest on the most recent edition of “E&C’s Pod of Awesomeness”, hosted by Edge and Christian.
During the appearance, Paige opened up about her career-ending injury which took place back in late December and discussed receiving the news that she would not be medically cleared to compete in a WWE ring.
Paige also noted that doctors did tell her there is a possibility she could wrestle again, but she would likely have to wait at least 10 to 15 years.
“My doctor said, maybe, in 15 to 20 years time I could return,” Paige said, via Express.co.uk. “I don’t think I want to wrestle in 15 to 20 years time.
People say ‘you’ll have the Daniel Bryan thing’ but the thing with Daniel Bryan is his problem was concussion. Ours is spinal, so it’s different,” Paige explained.
Paige also described, in detail, the night her injury took place, and she had the following to say.
“When it actually happened and the accident happened in the ring, I lost all feeling in my legs and my arms,” said Paige, via Reddit/SquaredCircle. “It was literally the most terrifying experience in my life and I would never wish that upon anyone. It was so scary. I literally was like “Oh my gosh, I’m done, I’m going to be in a wheelchair now, this is it, I’ve pushed myself too much.” Because I really did, because every time I was in the match I was like “its okay, I’ll do the comeback, I’ll take the bump, I’ll do this, I’ll do that” because I was just so eager to get back in the ring you know. I feel like I pushed myself too hard to the point of where my body was like “stop.” You know I’ve been doing this since I was thirteen as well and my body was like “you need time to grow woman.”
