Tonight we saw the winner of the inaugural WWE Women’s Royal Rumble, Asuka, finally come face to face on Smackdown Live with WWE Smackdown Women’s Champion, Charlotte Flair.
Billed as The Queen vs. The Empress, Asuka had never been on Smackdown Live before tonight, but after making her clear intentions known on Sunday’s WWE Fastlane, Asuka showed up to come face to face with the champion that she chose to square off against in New Orleans, Charlotte.
Charlotte explained to the WWE Universe that this match is exactly what she wanted, and that once she heard Asuka’s music on Sunday, she was excited.
Asuka retorted that she picked Charlotte because she wants to face the best, but said that while Charlotte is a queen, she is an empress and she bows to no one.
