As noted, NWA World Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis made his debut wrestling for Ring of Honor this weekend, and took some time during Saturday evening’s show in London to address Cody Rhodes.

The NWA had previously announced that the Ten Pounds of Gold will be defended at the ALL IN event in Chicago on September 1st, and that Rhodes would be challenger no matter who holds the title. Aldis has made it very clear that he was never consulted about the decision – something he’s clearly not happy about – and took offense that the “American Nightmare” didn’t reach out to him personally.

The champ then threw down a massive challenge, stating that he would officially accept a match for the NWA strap at ALL IN, but on the condition that Cody Rhodes win back the ROH World Championship between now and September, with the intention that both titles would be on the line in their bout.

While both men eventually shook hands in London and seemed to mutually agree to the terms of their proposed match, Cody has a lot of work to do before he can hold up his end of the deal. He’s set to step into the ring with Dalton Castle for a championship rematch at next month’s ROH Best in the World pay-per-view, and we’ve heard rumor that it may be changed into a triple threat match to also include “The Villain” Marty Scurll.
