Impact Wrestling returned to Universal Studios in Orlando, FL tonight for the first of six consecutive television taping events, which will mostly likely take them through their annual Lockdown pay-per-view in April. It’s worth noting that the following matches and segments may have been taped out of order, and it’s not clear how many episodes they recorded at tonight’s event.
(1) Caleb Konley def. Rohit Raji
(2) Matt Sydal (c) def. Fallah Bahh to retain the Impact Grand Championship. In an interesting change, it appears that the match had no rounds or judges of any kind, and was instead just a regular title match.
(3) Bobby Lashley def. KM
(4) Kiera Hogan def. Laurel Van Ness
(5) Moose & Johnny Impact def. Ethan Carter III & Alberto el Patron
– Impact Global Champion Eli Drake comes out with Chris Adonis to celebrate his life and all his accomplishments. He calls himself the greatest champion of all time, the greatest dresser of all time, and might as well just be the greatest man of all time. Austin Aries made a surprise return and wasn’t happy about the gimmick infringement, challenging Eli to a match for the title. Chris Adonis attacked him from behind and they brought out a ref, so it looks like this is happening now…
(6) Austin Aries def. Eli Drake (c) to become the new Impact Global Champion.
(7) Taiji Ishimori & Matt Sydal def. Rohit Raju & El Hijo Del Fantasma
(8) Trevor Lee & Caleb Konley def. TECH
– LAX came out and let the Cult of Lee know that they were next on the hit list, and there’s nothing they or anyone else can do to stop them.
(9) Laurel Van Ness def. Kiera Hogan
(10) Hania def. Amber Nova
(11) Johnny Impact def. Moose, Ethan Carter III and Alberto el Patron to become the new #1 contender to the Impact Global Championship.
