As everyone in the WWE Universe awaits the highly anticipated upcoming ESPN 30 For 30 documentary on November 7th featuring the Nature Boy, two-time WWE Hall of Famer, Ric Flair, ESPN caught up with Ric to discuss his recovery after the very publicized health scare that had the entire wrestling world on the edge of their seats.

ESPN reporter, Vaughn McClure, spoke to Ric who mentioned that he feels lucky to feel alive after learning he had a 20 percent chance to live, but was brought closer to his family after the whole ordeal.

“My health is much better than it was. When I got out of the hospital, I was 206 pounds. I’m back to 220. I’m allowed to drive a car, even though Wendy won’t ride with me. So, I’m making a lot of strides, considering I couldn’t walk when I got out of the hospital.”

Flair comments in the article about he initially went to the hospital thinking he had food poisoning, but his body began to shut down, prompting his admission into the intensive care unit(ICU). From there, his heart started to fail and his kidneys shut down. His wife, Wendy Barlow, never left his side, sleeping in the hospital for 10 days straight.

“If he would have slept through the night with the stomachache and how bad it was, he would have died that night,” Barlow said. “They said he had a 20 percent chance to live when I took him in there.’

Flair, who seemed in good spirits, commented on the documentary while meeting with other WWE Superstars, such as The Undertaker, as was seen in a previous article. He mentions that the support has been overwhelming, including visits from celebrities and athletes alike, including Hulk Hogan, and Michael “PS” Hayes
