Olympique de Marseille and Sevilla have struck an agreement over the loan move of Senegalese international midfielder Pape Gueye (24), according to Mohamed Bouhafsi.
The former Le Havre youth product will join the Andalusians for a six-month spell and then return to Marseille at the end of the season as no buy option has been included in the deal. Gueye is tied to OM with a contract due to expire in 2024.
The Senegalese international was short on game time with Les Phocéens as OM Croatian boss Igor Tudor relies mostly with Jordan Veretout (29), Mattéo Guendouzi (23) or Valentin Rongier (28) to shape his midfield. The club have also just signed Azzedine Ounahi from SCO Angers.
Gueye only played thirteen Ligue 1 games, starting most of them from the bench. With this loan move, he will reunite with former OM boss Jorge Sampaoli, who is now in charge of Sevilla. The 24-year-old Montreuil-born player will reportedly undergo his medical with LaLiga thirteenth-placed side this Monday morning.
Videos have shown that, following a private jet flight from Marseille, Gueye has arrived in Sevilla ahead of his move.
