Foot Mercato report that the Paris Saint-Germain’s new duo in charge of sporting strategy, Luis Campos and Antero Henrique, have both taken up specific roles in the absence of a director of football in name.
Henrique, who formerly held the director’s position at PSG before being pushed out over his differences with ex-manager Thomas Tuchel, is broadly speaking in charge of selling undesirable players – for instance, Danilo Pereira, or Julian Draxler and Mauro Icardi.
These days, Henrique is said to be presenting himself in negotiations with agents or clubs as the one who manages the club’s overall strategy. In most cases, the 54-year-old appears to be the one who liaises with agents and players when it comes to negotiators, indicating his role is more expansive than simply looking for an exit door.
Luis Campos’ role lies more in getting the new project across to potential recruits. The former Lille man explains to players why they are wanted and convinces them that he has been following them for a while. He also has associates, Ludovic Fattizzo, working on deals such as that of Gianluca Scamacca or Milan Škriniar. So far, the duo appears to be working, with several deals just pending confirmation before they can be confirmed, and for PSG’s new project to truly get underway,
