Le Parisien report today that Paris Saint-Germain are on the brink of signing a partnership deal with Portuguese top flight team Braga, with the deal being orchestrated by Antero Henrique, the former sporting director who has now returned to work for the club on an external basis.

The project would be to turn last year’s Primeira Liga 4th-place finishers into a satellite club, joining Belgian top flight club Eupen in a network of teams.

One of Henrique’s jobs this summer, beyond simply selling deadwood, is to develop the club’s partnerships and buy out stakes in other clubs, with the Qatari owners looking to take inspiration from the City Group’s multi-club model.

Braga have already announced the signings of two youth players who were out of contract with the Ligue 1 champions at the end of the season, Jordan Monteiro and Enzo Tayamoutou. Although it is unlikely that the likes of Mauro Icardi and Leandro Paredes will be sold to the Portuguese side, the partnership would in the immediate future see more young players make the move on loan once the deal is signed.
