As reported by La Provence, Marseille’s young Senegalese striker Bamba Dieng has decided he wants to stay put at OM this summer despite a variety of interested clubs.
Earlier this month it was reported that German side Freiburg had opened talks with the representatives of the 22-year-old Dieng, but the player was, even then, keen to stay with Marseille. However, that may not be the end of the issue, as his sale could help Marseille stabilise the club’s transfer window and give space for more arrivals. OM are reportedly open to a move.
In January, Dieng was valued at €10m plus bonuses by the French club with both Newcastle and Burnley keen to sign the player who also turned down an offer from Turkish giants Fenerbahce.

In 46 senior games for Marseille, Dieng has managed nine goals and three assists including a spectacular bicycle kick away at Strasbourg which became one of the goals of this Ligue 1 season. Dieng has also made nine outings for his country, scoring once while being part of January’s AFCON winning squad earlier this year.
