NICE – 2 (Todibo 45, Bard 61)

Walter Benítez, 5

Jordan Lotomba, 6 – A positive outlet for Nice throughout and regularly beat his man to whip in a dangerous cross.

Jean-Clair Todibo, 6 – Todibo has noticeably matured at Nice and again posted a solid defensive display complemented by stealing in for the opener after Bizot’s error.

Dante, 6

Melvin Bard, 7 – A real talent, Lyon’s decision to sell looks more absurd by the week. It was his arrowed cross that fooled Bizot for Todibo’s opener before he poached the second with late a run at the back post.

Pablo Rosario, 6

Mario Lemina, 6

Hassane Kamara, 7 – Lively throughout, the left of a four man midfield suiting his dynamism at both ends perfectly. His crossing was often precise and he made a key interception at 0-0 from Cardona’s through ball.

Calvin Stengs, 4 – Overall one of his better Nice displays, characterised by an increased intensity and some intelligent passing around the area but three huge chances were somehow squandered in the process – one at the back post, side footing over, was quite astonishing.

Andy Delort, 8 – Ran the show at times. His interplay with Gouiri was again difficult to stop and he routinely found space in and around the area to shoot or create. A pair of chested through balls for Stengs were highlights.

Amine Gouiri, 5 – A very up and down evening saw two huge chances missed but it was his cross that assisted Bard for 2-0 and his intelligent movement and interplay with Delort was again incisive.

Others: Daniliuc 5, Dolberg 5, Thuram 5, Da Cunha 5.

BREST – 1 (Honorat 92)

Marco Bizot, 5 – Made another bad error for the goal, mishandling Bard’s cross under pressure from Todibo but did make three smart stops to keep his side in the game.

Ronaël Pierre-Gabriel, 4

Brendan Chardonnet, 4

Dénys Bain, 3

Jean-Kévin Duverne, 3

Lucien Agoumé, 3

Haris Belkebla, 3

Romain Faivre, 3 – No real effect on the game and still lacks consistency overall.

Irvin Cardona, 3

Franck Honorat, 6 – Brest, in general, were flattered by the 2-1 score line and he was perhaps the only Brest player to impose himself on the game even a little and was at the centre of most of his side’s positive moments, including his finish for an injury time consolation.

Steve Mounie, 4

Others: Faussurier 5, Le Douaron 5, Mbock 5, Badji 5.
