Angers have completed the signing of young Belgium U21 international Baptiste Guillaume from Lille.

The 22-year-old had recently spent the past season out on loan at Ligue 2 club Strasbourg, where he scored nine goals in 31 games and helped his side win the Ligue 2 title and promotion to Ligue 1.

Guillaume started his career with RC Lens before gaining a move to Lille for a fee believed to be around £3.4m in 2015. It was with Lens where Guillaume gained a reputation for a young, deadly striker but his move to Lille didn’t quite work out as well as he had hoped.

He joined Strasbourg on loan in 2016, and now finds himself with SCO. He will wear the number nine shirt for his new club and will hope to carry his form from last season into this coming year.
