Ring of Honor today has announced the exclusive signing of top lucha libre star William Arturo Muñoz González, better known as Rush.

The 30-year-old star has spent the last ten years working for CMLL in Mexico, winning nearly all of the promotion’s top titles including the CMLL World Light Heavyweight Championship, Tag Team Championships, and Trios Championships.

Rush is perhaps best known to western fans for co-founding the faction Los Ingobernables alongside La Sombre, now known as WWE Superstar Andrade Cien Almas, and for quite some time the two were easily the top heels in Mexico. He has also competed for New Japan Pro Wrestling, generally fighting alongside Tetsuya Naito and his Los Ingobernables de Japon offshoot.

PWInsider.com is reporting that Rush will still be able to continue working with CMLL going forward, as Ring of Honor was able to negotiate the deal with the Mexican promotion due to a strong working relationship between the two and New Japan.

MLW has already announced that Rush has been pulled from his 4/4 booking during WrestleMania weekend. He was set to become a major star for the promotion, having only recently debuted, but ROH was reportedly able to go around them to secure an exclusive contract.
