The Showbuzz Daily web site has returned with notes on Friday programming. This will enable us to get more details on the ratings of all sports.
Some notes from Friday. Smackdown did 2,084,000 viewers and 0.58 in 18-49, winning the night in the key demo. The number is actually artificially low because several markets aired NFL football on FOX and it probably would have ended up closer to 2.2 million and probably be the most demo number except for 7/16 in a long time. The debut of Rampage did 740,000 viewers and 0.31, finishing third on cable behind the two NFL games on the NFL Network. Head-to-head, the NFL only beat Rampage .36 to .31. It actually beat the NFL game head-to-head in women 12-34. It was up 113% from what TNT averages in the time slot in 18-49and up 30% in what TNT averages with movies in total viewers. Given the time slot, it’s an excellent number but it was promoted like crazy all week by WarnerMedia so this is not likely where it’s going to stay. IIt may do even bigger this Friday so it probably won’t be until about week four before we know what level it will end up at.
“Our goal was to come out of the gate strong and establish Fridays at 10 p.m. ET on TNT as the place to catch the hottest commodities in professional wrestling,” said Tony Khan, CEO, GM and Head of Creative of AEW. “Coming off our red-hot debut episode of ‘AEW: Rampage’ last Friday that featured Dr. Britt Baker retaining her AEW Women’s World Championship against Red Velvet in the main event match, we’re all excited for The First Dance this Friday night at the sold-out United Center in Chicago. It will be a special episode of ‘AEW: Rampage’ that will be enshrined in wrestling history as a night that fans will remember for a very long time.”
The final WWE PPV show of the year will be 12/12 at the All-State Arena in suburban Chicago. Chicago will be loaded as AEW not only runs there Friday, three times the first week of September and will return the night before Thanksgiving as well.
Funeral services for Bobby Eaton will be on 8/24 at 2 p.m. at the New Generation Funeral Home at 2930 Murfreesboro Pike in Antioch, TN.

UFC fighters Thiago Santos and Yana Kunitskaya announced on Sunday that they are having a child. The funny part is that the couple first announced the pregnancy on 4/1, and then said it was an April Fool’s joke. But this is apparently legit. Kunitskaya has said that she will fight at some point in 2022.
