In case you missed it, Stephanie McMahon made her return to Monday Night Raw this week to make the historic announcement that for the first time ever, WWE will host the first ever all-women’s pay-per-view event on October 28th entitled WWE Evolution.
We have a ton of new information on what is sure to be a phenomenal, history-making night of professional wrestling. Following Stephanie’s announcement, Michael Cole confirmed that the Raw Women’s Championship, Smackdown Women’s Championship and NXT Women’s Championship would all be defended on the card, no matter who is champion at the time. In addition, WWE Evolution will host the finals of the 2018 Mae Young Classic tournament, set to kick off later this summer.
In a statement released on WWE.com, the company also confirmed that every single female superstar on the roster (including NXT and presumably the NXT UK branch) will be in attendance at WWE Evolution, including Ronda Rousey. Hall of Famers Trish Stratus, Lita and Beth Phoenix have also been announced, with more returning stars being teased.
Over 50 WOMEN will be a part of @WWE's first-ever ALL-WOMEN pay-per-view event #WWEEvolution, emanating from @NYCBLive on Sunday, October 28! https://t.co/f3Uod2X8Lm
