WHBQ out of Memphis, Tennessee is reporting that funeral services for former WWE star Brian Christopher will be held on Friday at Hope Church on Walnut Grove Road. The visitation starts at noon and the service will begin at 2 p.m. CDT.
The media outlet also obtained comments from Christopher’s father, WWE Hall of Famer Jerry Lawler, who was with Christopher at the time of his death. Lawler said he was “glad to hold his son’s hand when his heart stopped beating around 3:30 p.m.”
As noted, authorities found Brian Christopher had hanged himself in his jail cell, and corrections officers administered CPR until paramedics arrived. Lawler was transported to Regional One Medical Center in Memphis where he died Sunday afternoon. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation later released a statement saying prior to his death Christopher “had no indication that he was suicidal, he was not on suicide watch.” Jerry Lawler seemed suspect of the situation and told WHBQ “there may be more to this than meets the eye” as it pertains to the ensuing police investigation.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation reportedly called Lawler this morning and asked him not to comment further until their investigation is complete.
