Some of Chelsea’s squad believe that Maurizio Sarri has become too reliant on one player and fear it is costing the side points, according to reports.
The Blues suffered their biggest defeat of the Roman Abramovich era on Wednesday as they lost 4-0 to Bournemouth in a terrible performance.
His post-match dressing room inquest lasted almost an hour as he picked apart their display with the result seeing them slide into fifth position in the Premier League.
And the Telegraph adds that he asked for feedback from the squad with some players saying that his ‘Sarriball’ philosophy has come too reliant on Jorginho.
During the dressing room lock-in, Sarri also questioned himself and pointed fingers at certain players, including Eden Hazard for ‘failing to follow instructions’.
Jorginho started off the season really well as Chelsea kept pace with the leaders early on before he has slowly been targeted by teams with David Brooks stifling him on Wednesday night.
The Italy international joined from Napoli in the summer for £50million but he has only managed one goal in all competitions and is yet to provide an assist for his team-mates.
The report adds that opponents seem to have ‘worked out’ that they can overcome Sarri’s tactics if they stop Jorginho from playing his passing game.
Due to Sarri’s ‘obsession’ with him, the report claims that Jorginho is in danger of alienating himself from the group and becoming a teacher’s pet.
There is no suggestion, however, that his team-mates don’t rate him as a player with the acknowledgement of his fantastic talents.
