According to a report from Foot Mercato, Nice have made an offer for Istanbul Başakşehir’s Youssouf Ndayishimiye. The 24-year-old, who can play at both centre-back and central midfield, has four goals across 17 appearances in the Turkish Süper Lig this season. The Istanbul side are 3rd in the league, behind Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe.

After the departure of Nice manager Lucien Favre, Les Aiglons are looking to reignite their season in the French top flight. Part of the reshuffle, which has seen Didier Digard take over the reins as interim manager, will involve looking to the transfer market to improve their central defensive options. Ndayishimiye, for whom Nice have offered €9m, is one of their targets. The Côte d’Azur club currently sit 10th in the French top flight.

It appears that Nice’s sporting director Florent Ghisolfi is particularly interested in the Burundian defender, having made an €8m offer last summer when he was sporting director of RC Lens, which was rejected. Negotiations may continue, as the Istanbul side are looking for €12m.
