As reported by Ouest France, Nice’s striker Evann Guessand is set to join Coupe de France winners Nantes for season on loan. This follows the player’s refusal of offers from Burnley, Club Bruges and Brest yesterday afternoon, according to Santi Aouna. The loan does not include an option to buy.

The canaries will be pleased to wrap up the signing of the young forward, following the departure of Randall Kolo Muani to Europa League champions Eintracht Frankfurt. He is set to become the club’s second signing of the summer transfer window, following the arrival of Moussa Sissoko (32), who joined on a €2m deal from Watford. Nantes are in need of reinforcements ahead of a packed season, during which they will compete in Europe for the first time in nearly two decades.
Having come through the Nice academy, the Corsica-born striker will embark on the second loan of his career, having spent the 2020/21 season in Switzerland with Lausanne. His last loan spell was a productive one, in which he scored 7 goals and registered 5 assists in 34 games.
