MONTPELLIER – 0

Jonas Omlin, 6 – He was lucky to get away with a sliced clearance early on but made two excellent saves, one a finger tip wide from Paquetá in the first half and the other at his near post from Ekambi.

Arnaud Souquet, 5

Mamadou Sakho, 5

Nicolas Cozza, 5

Mihailo Ristić, 5

Joris Chotard, 5

Jordan Ferri, 6

Florent Mollet, 6 – Despite being prominent throughout and party to many of MHSC’s better play, it was a frustrating display overall. He’s happier in central areas without Savanier in the side but wasted too many openings, most notably hitting the post in the first half with the goal at his mercy. He was also lucky to get away with a poor pass for Cozza which let OL in at the back too.

Stephy Mavididi, 7 – He was the game’s central protagonist in truth. Working hard throughout and controlling Montpellier’s attack in the absence of Savanier, he created MHSC’s best chance of the game for Mollet who hit the post. His pace and skill were a threat throughout.

Nicholas Gioacchini, 6 – Having only occasionally threatened to live up to the hype at Caen this was by far his best Ligue 1 outing so far. Although he was unable to pose a consistent threat his dynamism and work rate made things happen for MHSC.

Valère Germain, 3 – Another close to anonymous display after a good start to the year. As has been repeatedly proved over his career so far, he’s not a lone striker, and so it is proving here.

Others: Wahi 5, Makouana 5, Leroy 5.

LYON – 1 (Paquetá 17)

Anthony Lopes, 6

Malo Gusto, 7 – He faded a little after half time but his emergence continued at pace here as he provided the two key moments for this OL win. Firstly, a missile of a cross for Slimani to hit the bar eventually created the opener before he brilliantly cut out a cross for Mavididi that looked certain to be converted otherwise.

Jason Denayer, 6

Jérôme Boateng, 5

Emerson Palmieri, 5

Maxence Caqueret, 5

Houssem Aouar, 6

Lucas Paquetá, 6 – Graceful in his midfield work as always and won the game after reacting the quickest to Slimani hitting the bar having also forced Omlin into a stretching low save early on.

Karl Toko Ekambi, 5

Islam Slimani, 4

Others: Mendes 5, Da Silva 5, Dembélé 5, Cherki 6
