Nearly two weeks since its release, Taylor Swift’s music video for her new single “Look What You Made Me Do” continues to stir rumblings on the Internet. After upholding the video’s visuals against claims that Swift stole imagery from Beyoncé’s “Formation” on Twitter, director Joseph Kahn argues that it’s actually the other way around.

In a new interview with the Los Angeles Times, Kahn doubles down on his defense. “It’s not ‘Formation’ at all,” he said when asked about the videos’ similarities. “[Fans] try to say she’s wearing a black crop top and Beyoncé wore a black crop top. But they don’t realize in 2015 in ‘Bad Blood,’ Taylor Swift was wearing a black crop top.”

With those words alone, the Beyhive would have certainly swarmed Kahn, but he poked even further at their beloved queen, guaranteeing himself a sting.
