A travel ban enforced by President Donald Trump is proving to be detrimental for numerous people. A mother from Yemen had to fight tooth and nail to meet her two-year-old son who is probably counting his last few days.
International news agency AP reported that a Yemeni woman Shaima Swileh was fighting for the past one year so that she could meet her son in California. After much hue and cry, Swileh has been successful in winning the fight for a waiver from the Trump administration.
Two-year-old Abdullah was flown to the US by his father, Ali Hassan who is a US citizen and lives in Stockton for a genetic brain disorder. Hassan and Swileh got married in war-torn Yemen in 2016 and then moved to Egypt. The family had been struggling to get a visa for Swileh so that the entire family could move to California.
