Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed Paul Pogba is set to miss “three or four weeks” after opting for surgery on his ankle.
United were without Pogba in their 2-0 defeat by Arsenal at the Emirates, as Solskjaer admitted the Gunners had more “energy” than his side.
The Frenchman also missed the 2-0 win against Burnley with pain in his ankle.
And having only returned from the injury on December 22 in the defeat at Watford, he is set for surgery and expected to miss the whole of January.
Solkskjaer said: “We have had scans and it is nothing major. It is something that has to be sorted and dealt with, within a time frame and he has been advised to do it as soon as.
“He probably will do it as soon as. He will be out for a three or four weeks probably.”
Pogba has consistently been linked with a move away from United in January, with Juventus said to be looking to re-sign the World Cup winner, as reports revealed Solskjaer is growing ‘tired’ of his antics.
